Our Purpose

Prodigal Child is a sustainable luxury clothing brand founded on the belief that true style is soulful, intentional, and deeply personal.

We design for the conscious nonconformist—the ones who journey, transform, and return to the world changed. Our pieces reflect that exploration: bold, refined, and rooted in meaning. Each garment is a fusion of craftsmanship and conscience, made to honor both the body and the Earth.

At our core, we operate with a love ethic—a philosophy of care, justice, and respect that guides everything we do. From regenerative and low-impact materials to ethical manufacturing and responsible sourcing, we choose a slower, more purposeful path—because love is not fast, and neither is real change.

As we grow, we’re building a model that not only sustains, but gives back. In the near future, a portion of our proceeds will support organizations driving meaningful work in social and environmental justice. We believe that true luxury includes accountability—to people, to planet, and to community.

Prodigal Child is more than clothing. It’s a return to what matters.

Our Origins

Prodigal Child was born beside the hearth—not of firewood and stone, but of a Harlem apartment where culture pulsed through the floorboards and creativity burned quietly in the corners.

There, in a space filled with secondhand books, vinyl records, inherited fabrics, and the distant rhythm of jazz on the street, the first sketches took shape. What began as a deeply personal exploration—of self, of heritage, of purpose—grew into a brand rooted in care, consciousness, and craft.

The hearth is where we gather, where stories are passed down, where something is made from almost nothing. It represents warmth, transformation, and return. That spirit lives in every piece we create.

From our Harlem home to wherever you are, this is our offering. Crafted with care. Designed with depth. Built for the return.

Our Founder

Jaden Speed was raised in Las Vegas—a city of bold contrasts. Beneath the glittering lights and high drama of the Strip lay the quiet pull of the desert and the strength of surrounding mountains. That mix of glamour and grit, artifice and authenticity, kinetic energy and vast stillness shaped Jaden’s early sense of identity and expression.

With a degree in Political Science and a deep interest in systems, identity, and social change, Jaden has always moved through the world with both curiosity and conviction. But it was at the intersection between environment and emotion, between silence and self-expression, that the seeds of Prodigal Child were planted.

The brand began in a Harlem apartment—small, sunlit, alive with music and memory—where Jaden’s creative vision took shape. Clothing became more than aesthetics; it became a way to speak, to question, to return to something more authentic.

As founder and creative director, Jaden brings a rare blend of introspection, intellect, and artistry to Prodigal Child—crafting pieces that hold story, depth, and soul.
